Groundwork For Success: What your horse should know as a respectable member of the equine community and how you can achieve this.

• Leading: Where your horse belongs in relationship to you.

• Manners: Teaching your horse how to respect your space

• How to handle stress: Teach your horse how to handle pressure in a safe quiet manner.

• Standing Quietly: Behaving respectfully on a loose lead.

• Trailer Loading: Loading and unloading quietly on a soft relaxed lead.

Handling Obstacles:  Teach your horse how to handle different things in a safe, quiet manner.

• How to get your horse to handle --Bridges, Tarps, Dragging things, Road Flares, Ditches, Water, Car Wash, etc. 

• Learn about:  Opening Gates, Ponying, Picking up objects while riding, gunfire*

This clinic is flexible and designed to meet the needs of the group.  Originally designed for Search and Rescue groups but is ideal for Mounted Posse's and advanced trail riders.

* There are additional charges for gunfire training, covering ammunition

• Physics of the horse: Exploring the cause and effect relationship of a horse's body.  How is a horse's body put together and why does the horse do this when you do that.  How you can use this knowledge to take a horse's natural reaction and turn it into a trained response.
• Bits:  Basic understanding of how bits work and what effect they have on your horse.
• Saddles:  Proper fitting technique and riding equipment
• Chiropractic Care: An in-depth look at the benefits of chiropractic care and how it can help your horse.
• How to get your horse to go where you ask:  Use the physics of the horse to get the desired response without fighting with your horse.
• Two-Tracking, Backing, Stopping, Turning and Forehand turns.

• Clinic is designed to fill areas that are not covered in the other clinics or for groups who need special instruction in specific areas. • This clinic is designed to familiarize participants with one of the most exciting, fun horse events you can engage in.  Cowboy Mounted Action Shooting is one of the fastest growing equine sports in the nation.  We will get your horse used to gunfire in a safe controlled manner as well as help the rider with form and function in this exciting sport.
